Who we are

Glance ("Glance", "we", "us") is operated from the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us any time at admin@swiftbee.co.uk.

What we collect

We only collect data that the app needs to work. Nothing on this list will surprise you if you've used the app:

• Account & profile information. Your name, email address, date of birth (to verify you're 18 or over), gender, and who you're interested in meeting. Your photos, videos and anything you write on your profile.
• Sensitive information. Because Glance is a dating app, telling us who you're interested in can reveal your sexual orientation. We treat this as special category data and process it only with your explicit consent, solely to show you relevant people.
• Location. Your device's location (with your permission) and the city you set, so we can match you with people and venues nearby.
• Content you create. Messages you send in chat, voice notes, and anything you share with matches. Voice dictation is converted to text on your device by Apple's speech recognition.
• AI feature content. Messages, images, selfie verification photos, imported chat exports, prompts, and profile or match context that you choose to use with Glance's AI features.
• Purchases. A record of subscriptions or purchases you make, so we can unlock what you've paid for. Payment itself is handled by Apple or Google - we never see your card details.
• Device & usage data. A user ID for your account, device identifiers (such as push notification tokens), and analytics about how the app is used (screens viewed, features used), so we can fix problems and improve Glance.

How we use it

What other people see

Your profile - name, age, photos, and what you've written - is visible to other Glance users we show you to. Your date of birth, email address, precise location and purchase history are never shown to other users. Messages and voice notes are visible only to the people in the conversation.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We use a small number of service providers to run Glance:

• Google Firebase (Google LLC) - authentication, database, file storage, cloud functions, push notifications and analytics. See Firebase's privacy documentation.
• Apple - Sign in with Apple, in-app purchases, and on-device speech recognition.
• Google Maps - showing venues and locations on a map.
• OpenAI - AI chat, image generation, selfie verification, MatchTok safety review, Connection Snapshot, Mind Profile and other AI-generated app functionality. See OpenAI's enterprise privacy information.
• Google Gemini API - AI chat replies and related AI assistance. See Google's Gemini API terms.
• Anthropic Claude API - AI chat replies and related AI assistance. See Anthropic's API data retention information.
• xAI Grok API - AI chat replies and related AI assistance. See xAI's API security information.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Some are based outside the UK; where data leaves the UK, it's protected by recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.

How AI providers process data

Before Glance sends personal data to a third-party AI provider, we ask for your permission in the app. If you allow AI data sharing, Glance sends only the information needed for the AI feature you choose to use.

• What may be sent. Your AI chat messages, recent chat context, attached images, imported-chat signals, profile details such as name, age, gender, interests, bio, location label and preferences, relevant match context such as a match's first name, age, bio, interests and location label, selfie verification images, MatchTok captions/prompts/preview frames, and AI image prompts.
• Why it is sent. To generate AI replies, personalize dating guidance and match recommendations, generate Mind Profile and Connection Snapshot outputs, perform selfie verification and safety checks, generate AI images, and suggest openers or conversation help.
• Provider protection, retention and use. OpenAI says API business data is not used to train models by default and may be retained for up to 30 days for service and abuse-monitoring purposes unless a different retention setting applies. Anthropic says retained API data is not used for model training without express permission and designs API retention around the smallest practical footprint. xAI says API inputs and outputs are not used for training without explicit permission and are retained for 30 days by default for audit and abuse purposes. For paid Gemini API services, Google says prompts and responses are not used to improve products and are logged for a limited period for safety, security and legal purposes; unpaid Gemini services have broader review and improvement terms, so Glance uses business/paid API access for user-facing app features.
• Your choices. You can withdraw AI data-sharing consent in Settings. After withdrawal, Glance will not make new third-party AI requests with your personal data unless you allow AI data sharing again. You can also delete saved AI chat history, imported-chat signals, AI memory, Connection Snapshot and Mind Profile data in Settings, or email admin@swiftbee.co.uk to request deletion.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data.
• We don't show third-party ads.
• We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We don't read your messages to build advertising profiles.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we need to keep a limited record for longer - for example to comply with the law, resolve disputes, or keep the community safe (such as records of enforcement action).

Your rights and choices

• Access, correction and deletion. You can edit your profile in the app, and delete your account at any time from the app's settings or by emailing us. See how to delete your account.
• Location and notifications. You can turn these off in your device settings at any time.
• Withdraw consent. Where we rely on consent (like location or your preferences), you can withdraw it at any time.
• UK GDPR rights. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to certain processing. Email us and we'll help. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Age requirement

Glance is for adults. You must be 18 or over to use it, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 is using Glance, please report them in the app or email us.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, stored on Google Cloud infrastructure, and access is restricted to what's needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your data seriously - if we ever became aware of a breach affecting you, we would tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes, we'll update this page and tell you in the app before the changes take effect. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
